JINGLE BELL RUN - EARLY PPU VOLUNTEER INFO - JBR PPU at the Festival Volunteers
Thank you for volunteering for Packet Pickup during the Sights-n-Sounds Festival for the Jingle Bell Run. Because our volunteer slots are part of the overall Sights-n-Sounds volunteer signup, you may receive general festival volunteer information, but I wanted to get in front of that with this message so you know there's more information from me coming. Who doesn't love emails from Jennifer full of way too many details?!
I will send an updated message the week of December 1 once I have details about our specific tent setup (for example, first shift will have instructions for setup and second shift will have instructions for shut down). For now, please review the parking and entry information below so you can plan your evening.
Packet Pickup shifts are 6–8 p.m. and 8–10 p.m. You are welcome to arrive before your shift to enjoy the festival and to stay afterward to enjoy the festival. As a JBR volunteer, you may enter through our opening in the fence to the left of the main front gates. After entering, proceed to the Chamber of Commerce to pick up your volunteer shirt and check in. You may also enter directly through the Chamber if you prefer.
Below is information from Sights-n-Sounds regarding parking and the clear bag policy.
Parking
Free parking and shuttle service are available nightly from 5:00–11:30 p.m. in the Mill Street lot (across from Bobcat Stadium, behind Bobcat Village Apartments). The shuttle drops off at the front main entrance.
More parking details: https://sights-n-sounds.org/arrive/#parking-shuttle
Clear Bag Policy
All attendees, must follow the festival’s clear bag policy. Policy details: https://sights-n-sounds.org/clear-bag-policy/
Additional Parking Notes for 2025
During Texas State graduation (Dec. 12–13), avoid the Bobcat Stadium lots, Strahan Coliseum lots, and the Edward Gary garage.
Paid parking is available at 304 E San Antonio St. (no shuttle service; short walk to festival grounds).
You might also be able to score street parking, but please plan ahead so you arrive for your shift on time!
